Participants

The Study visit seeks to involve and invite various actors and stakeholders of youth work, youth participation and the inclusion sector from practice, policy and research from all over Europe.

Accessibility and sustainability

The venue where we organise the event is accessible for wheelchairs. We will also consider your special needs so that you can fully participate in the training. If you need a support person, accessible room and transport or supporting tools, we will try to arrange them for you. If you are selected to attend this Study visit please tell us your needs already beforehand so that we can be ready. We will also send a questionnaire about special needs and dietary restrictions to all those selected.

Youth Work in Schools

The study visit “Youth Work in Schools” will happen in Lahti from the 15th to 19th of May 2022. You will learn how the role of youth workers is enriching the school environment, how youth workers are engaging with the youth and also with teachers and the wider educational community.

Municipal Work in Helsinki

The study visit “Municipal Work in Helsinki” will take place in Helsinki from the 16th to the 19th of May. You will learn how the city of Helsinki organizes its municipal youth work, what the structures are,
how administrative planning is done, how priorities are set, how the stakeholders are included, and what evaluation system is in place.

This 2-part training aims at strengthening the capacities of youth workers at the municipal level by introducing all sorts of tools and processes for the quality development of youth work.

Apply if you’re:

• involved in the development of youth work at the municipal level
• and eager to improve the quality of local youth work!

You will be able to:

• Deepen the knowledge of the participants on the content of the European Charter on Local Youth Work to generate change needed to improve the quality of youth work;
• Learn about tools and good practices related to participatory action research and follow up, adaptable and inspirational for local realities;
• Have peer-learning opportunities within EGL about quality development in municipal level youth work;
• Learn more about the European initiatives and programs as well as the European Youth Work Agenda and the Bonn process

• 1st training module: 4 – 7 April 2022 (Belgium, Kortrijk)
• Optional individual tasks and webinars (between April and June 2022)
• 2nd training module: 13 – 16 June 2022 (Finland, Kouvola)
