Originally from Italy and now based in Germany, Lucia is a committed advocate for youth participation, intercultural learning, and non-formal education. Since 2021, Lucia has been a core member of the Generation Europe – The Academy team, first as project manager and now as coordinator. Before that, she collaborated with IBB e.V. as a freelancer on projects such as ewoca³ and Generation Europe, and worked as a project manager and educational consultant for several organisations in Italy and Germany.
Lucia’s passion for international youth work began in childhood through youth travel and exchange programmes. As a teenager, she studied foreign languages to connect more deeply with people from different cultures. This interest led her to study political science and international relations, with a growing focus on human rights and education. During university, she became involved with Amnesty International and worked with refugee communities.
She later completed a master’s degree in intercultural education and has over ten years of experience as a trainer in non-formal education, working in schools, youth organisations, and cross-border networks.
Lucia believes in the transformative power of non-formal education and the potential of young people to drive change. As a mother, she is also personally committed to building a more inclusive and sustainable future for the next generation.
