Faces of EGL – Stephanie Deimel-Scherzer, Quality Development and Project Management Consultant in bOJA

24/10/2025 - Faces of EGL

Stephanie joined bOJA – bundesweites Netzwerk Offene Jugendarbeit (nation wide network for open youth work in Austria), in 2012 as a political scientist with a degree in social work.  She played a leading role in developing the bOJA quality manual and led numerous projects to professionalize the open youth work.  Stephanie has a broad network within the European open youth work community as she has worked in the field for many years. For Stephanie, open youth work means supporting young people, empowering them, and responding to their needs and interests. The work she does within bOJA stands for freedom, fun, and creativity, but also for stability and reliability through professional working alliances. In Stephanie’s opinion, open youth work has significant social value, promoting political and media education, as well as fostering peaceful coexistence. It is a dynamic field of social work that constantly evolves in response to the issues facing young people.
